Description
Federal Large Pistol Magnum 155 Primers are designed for high volume, large caliber pistol, and revolver reloading. These primers deliver reliable, consistent ignition and are perfect for competition or target shooting. These reliable and compatible primers make them ideal for competition or target shooting. I have used them in my 9mm, and they work great. I will continue to purchase these primers.
What Are Large Magnum Pistol Primers For?
Our Magnum Pistol primers provide the extra heat to ensure reliable and consistent ignition. The primers produce a 20 percent hotter flame to light propellants in the harshest conditions but are as sensitive as all CCI® primers.
Are magnum primers hotter than standard primers?
Since magnum primers burn hotter and longer than standard primers, they can create peak charges that are dangerous to the barrel and the shooter. They can ignite powders faster and too quickly and cause a dangerous pressure buildup.
Can Magnum Primers be Used in Regular Loads?
Magnum primers aren’t just for magnums. I have been using magnums from time to time in non-magnum cartridges. Sometimes they work better. One of my best 308 loads for a particular rifle is magnum because it shoots the best.
What are Large Gun Primers Used for?
It is conclusive that the large primers give more speed with all the powders tested, especially with the slower ones like Herco. The extensive gun primer has a more robust ignition on the powder charge. The Felt recoil was different, with some reading a difference of 100 FPS or so.
